On May 9, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by the Attorney General of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Saud bin Abdullah Al-Mujib, APA reports.
Emphasizing that our countries cooperate successfully in various fields, the head of state noted the high political relations between the two countries. Recalling with satisfaction his visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, President Ilham Aliyev said that the hospitality shown during these visits once again demonstrated the fraternal relations existing between our peoples.
The President stressed that Azerbaijan has a special sympathy for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Because the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is one of the few countries in the world that has not established any diplomatic relations with Armenia. The reason was that our lands were under occupation. President Ilham Aliyev noted that we highly appreciate this position. The head of state said that the liberation of our lands due to the 44-day war showed the Armenian savagery and the destruction of everything in the liberated lands by Armenians, including 65 of the 67 mosques by Armenians.
Emphasizing that cooperation opportunities have increased in the economic sphere, including energy, have increased since the restoration of the country's territorial integrity. President Ilham Aliyev expressed satisfaction with the interest of large Saudi companies in Azerbaijan in this regard.

President Ilham Aliyev expressed confidence that the visit of Sheikh Saud bin Abdullah Al-Mujib would contribute to the development of bilateral relations.
Sheikh Saud bin Abdullah Al-Mujib conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman Al-Saud to the President.
President Ilham Aliyev thanked for the greetings and asked to convey his greetings to Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
Noting that the development processes in Azerbaijan caused them a sense of joy, the guest said: “I want to congratulate you on the development of your country. We have heard a lot about Azerbaijan, about the achievements of your country in the economic, social, and social spheres. On the eve of May 10- the birthday of the great leader Heydar Aliyev, Sheikh Saud bin Abdullah Al-Mujib paid tribute to his memory.
