Elmar Mammadyarov comments on not granting access for Russian citizen of Armenian origin to Azerbaijan

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has commented on not granting access for Russian citizen of Armenian origin to Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani FM told “Izvestiya” newspaper, APA reports.

According to the Minister, there is not any obstacle in the visit of Russian citizens of Armenian origin to Azerbaijan.

According to the Minister, however, they must inform the embassy of Azerbaijan to Russia before their visit.

E. Mammadyarov noted that the emotionality regarding the Nagorno Garabagh conflict must be taken into account in this matter.

"We always talk openly enough to the Russian side on this issue", emphasized the Minister.

Note that Russian citizen Kristina Gevorkyan wrote on Facebook she came to Baku to celebrate New Year, but she was made to wait for hours in the airport, and then was not allowed to enter Azerbaijan.
