13 pieces of missiles for antiaircraft artillery cannons found under bridge in Azerbaijan’s Khyzy region - PHOTO

At 08:09 p.m. on July 10, the information was received by the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) from 102 Service – Call center system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs about finding of a missile near the military unit #N situated on the territory of Khyzy region, ANAMA told APA.

The agency’s special mobile quick reaction operational forces and military working dog teams consisting of specially trained dogs searching for explosives, the officers of the Khyzy Regional Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Military Police Department of the Ministry of Defense were immediately sent to that area.

The visual inspection of the area under the bridge passing through the territory of Mashadihasan village of Khyzy region was conducted during July 10-11 of the current year by the experts of the agency acting together with officers of Khyzy Regional Police Department and the Military Police Department. The territory was closed off by the policemen in order to ensure security. As a result of the urgent operational and search measures conducted by the experts, 13 pieces of missiles for antiaircraft artillery cannons (BZT) and 42 pieces of bullets of various gauges were detected, and transported to the central destruction area of the agency for the purpose of neutralization.

The on-ground inspection of territory with area of 200 square meters surrounding the detected missiles for antiaircraft artillery cannons and bullets and the underground inspection of the territory with area of 2 square meters were conducted, no extra hazardous items and devices were found.
