Armed drug trader being Russian citizen detained in Baku

The measures are being continued by the internal affairs agencies in the area of detection of drug containing plants grown through cultivation, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) told APA.

Based on the received information, as a result of the operational and investigative measure implemented by officers of the 3rd Police Division of Khazar District Police Department, Rauf Abdulrahmanov, a citizen of the Russian Federation, being on temporary registration in Baku City and suspected of engagement in cultivation of plants containing narcotic substances has been detained.

During visual inspection of homestead yard of the house owned by him and situated in Bollug residential area of Bina settlement, 587 pieces of cannabis bushes weighing 97 kilograms 680 grams in wet condition and grown through cultivation were detected and confiscated. Besides, the newly grown cannabis plants in 47 pieces of pots and 5 kilograms 560 grams of dried marijuana were also detected and confiscated.

In continuation of operational measures by officers of the 3rd Police Division of Khazar District Police Department, the fire arms and ammunition hidden by Rauf Abdulrahmanov in the house where he resides were also detected. Thus, 1 piece of Kalashnikov assault rifle with erased number, owned by him and 3 pieces of bullet cartridges and 38 pieces of live bullets related to that rifle were detected in his apartment and were confiscated.

The materials regarding this incident collected at the 3rd Police division have been sent to Investigation Division of Khazar District Police Department. The operational and search and investigative measures are being continued in regard to Rauf Abdulrahmanov.
