Azerbaijan's SBS Deputy head Afghan Naghiyev brought to court

The deputy head of State Border Service of Azerbaijan, lieutenant-general Afghan Naghiyev and other officials detained with him as a result of operational and investigative measures conducted by the State Security Service (SSS) and the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan brought to the court, APA reports.

Currently, Binagadi District Court is considering the motion of the investigating authority on the election of preventive measures in the form of arrest.

Note that reportedly, as a result of the joint operational and investigative measures conducted by the State Security Service (SSS) and the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the unlawful actions of senior officials of Coast Guard of State Border Service (SBS) of the Azerbaijan Republic have been prevented.

The deputy head of SBS, lieutenant general Naghiyev Afghan Veli, the high-rank military servicemen of the SBS and civil persons have been detained in the capacity of the suspected persons in the framework of the criminal case initiated into this incident at the Main Department for Fight against Corruption under the General prosecutor’s office.
