Azerbaijani seamen save lives of three migrants exposed to drowning danger in Ionic Sea

The “Maestro Niyazi” ship owned by Sea Transport Fleet sailing in foreign waters under “Azerbaijan Caspian Sea Shipping” CJSC (ASCO) has participating in operation for rescuing of migrants in the boat having an accident in the Ionic Sea of Greece, the Company told APA.

At the time of occurrence of the accident, the ASCO’s “Maestro Niyazi” dry cargo ship heading from Russia’s Taganrog port to Albania’s Durres port and being near the territory where the accident had occurred, immediately went to the aid in response to the SOS signal received today at 09:14 Greece time. The Azerbaijani seamen provided urgent and professional aid. As a result of their efforts, the lives of three migrants from Afghanistan namely Sultani Jamshid born in 1994, Rzai Jabbar born in 2003 and Muhammed Rashid born in 1996 were saved, a corps of another person was pulled out from the water.

After being taken aboard, the survived migrants were provided with hot meal and cloths, and other necessary items were also given to them.

The migrants will be delivered to the concerned authorities.
