Azerbaijan's General Prosecutor’s Office appeals Russia regarding crimes of Semyon Pegov

It was determined that during the discussion entitled as “Liberation from occupation of Nagorno Garabagh and surrounding regions” and jointly conducted by author of WarGonzo project on some mass media outlets and social media pages, citizen of the Russian Federation Semyon Vladimirovich Pegov together with director of the Center for Middle east and Central Asia Researches, citizen of the Russian Federation Semyon Arkadevich Bagdasarov at SolovyovLive TV show, they gave forecasts saying Armenians will not reconcile to defeat and will attack the Azerbaijani soldiers in Garabagh, various combat operations will be prepared, the partisan war will start, they claimed that they have certain information regarding this and they voiced expressions of provocative nature by various methods, the press service of the General Prosecutor’s Office told APA.

As the signs of clauses 214-2 (open calls for terrorism), 281.2 (open calls by a group of persons aimed at shattering of territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan), 283.2.1 (commission using mass media outlets of open calls aimed at casting inter-ethnic animosity while threatening with use of force) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan are present in actions of Semyon Pegov and Semyon Bagdasarov, the collected materials were added to the criminal case handled under the investigation conducted in the Investigation Department of the General Prosecutor’s Office based on relevant clauses of the Criminal Code and related to the cases of illegal crossing of state border of the Republic of Azerbaijan by Semyon Pegov without documents, making by him of open calls for shattering of our country’s territorial integrity and its processing is continued in the way of investigation.

In connection with the aforementioned details, the official requests were sent in the framework of investigation of the criminal case to the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation and law enforcement agencies of other countries about provision of legal assistance, the implementation of necessary investigative actions in regard to Semyon Pegov and others was asked.

The provision of detailed information to the wide public about the course and the result of the investigation will be ensured by the General Prosecutor’s Office while maintaining permanent contact with the colleagues in connection with fulfillment of the requests.
