Criminal case launched against 10 coronavirus patients in Azerbaijan who left place of residence

During the special quarantine regime applied in the country, a number of measures were taken to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus, violation of anti-epidemic regime, sanitary-hygienic rules by citizens were kept under strict control by employees of law enforcement bodies, press service of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan told APA.

Necessary measures were taken by responding immediately to the information received from TABIB, the focus was on the people who contracted COVID-19 and treated at to follow defined rules and not to create infection risk to others by their actions.

During July of the current year alone, as a result of the measures taken by Binagadi, Sabunchu, Khatai districts of the capital, as well as Sumgait, Mingachevir, Jalilabad, Yevlakh, Goychay cities, and district police authorities, it has been determined 10 people infected with coronavirus and getting treatment at home have left their place of residence and put at risk the health of other people.

By the measures taken, those people have immediately been isolated and a criminal case has been launched against them under Article 139-1.1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan for violating the rules of special quarantine regime.

The measures in this field are underway.
