The General Prosecutor’s Office has issued information about detention of senior officials of Kurdamir region Executive Power suspected of committing law violations, the General Prosecutor’s Office told APA.
The report says the resolute and consistent measures of the prosecution agencies are being continued in the framework of measures of fight against corruption and other negative cases that could hamper the many-field and systematic reforms implemented in the country.
As one of those measures, the criminal case has been initiated on the ground of relevant clauses of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan as a result of the investigation conducted by the Main Department for Fight Against Corruption under the General Prosecutor in regard to the law violations taken place in Kurdamir region Executive Power.
The grounded suspicions were determined by the conducted investigation in regard to receiving monetary funds in various amounts from health, education and other public institutions, as well as a number of private enterprises functioning on the territory of the region by head of Kurdamir region Executive Power Jeyhun Jafarov through the mediation of the first deputy head of the executive power Tajeddin Novruzov, head of the Department for work with territorial management and local self-governance agencies of the Administrative office of the head of the executive power Natig Kerimov and other senior officials of the executive power with whom he was in agreement preliminarily and committing of other unlawful actions inflicting significant damage resulting in heavy consequences for the state interests.
Thus, the grounded suspicions were determined by the investigation in regard to requesting as a bribe and receiving by directly those persons or through other senior officials of the executive power in occasional times of the funds in the amount of a total of AZN 137 thousand from the health institutions functioning on the territory of the region, AZN 58 thousand – from the Group of Utility Enterprises, AZN 120 thousand - from education institutions functioning on the territory of the region, and AZN 71 thousand – from Azbiyan Limited Liability Company.
