Hand grenades discovered in Ganja city of Azerbaijan - PHOTO

On January 29, 2021, ANAMA received emergency information from the ″102″ Service Call Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on hand grenades discovered in the Kepez district and Gulustan settlement of Ganja city, APA reports citing ANAMA.

Based on the information, special mobile operational teams of the Agency and personnel of the Ganja City Police Department were immediately sent to the area.

Specialists of the Agency and employees of the Ganja City Police Department jointly inspected the mentioned above area. The territory was cordoned off by police to ensure security.

As a result of urgent search operations carried out by the Agency's specialists, 1 piece of F-1 and 1 piece of M-75 hand grenades found the territory of Ganja city. Eventually, all findings have been transported to the central disposal area of the Agency.

An area of 40 sq.m around the hand grenades was checked by the subsurface method, and no additional dangerous objects and devices were found.

In general, from January 1 to January 30, 2021, the Agency inspected roadsides, waste collection sites, crops, and pastures in Tovuz, Goranboy, Gazakh districts, and Ganja city, destroyed 10 pieces of unexploded ordnance (UXO) and 3 264 pieces of cartridges of various calibers, inspected 600 sq.m. of the ground surface, and 60 sq.m of subsurface area.
