Landslide occurred in Baku’s Badamdar settlement, road closed - UPDATED-1 - PHOTO

“An activity has occurred in a landslide zone in Badamdar settlement of Baku at the early hours of January 9 again. Sliding mass with the width of about 100 m has moved in the direction of highway between Badamdar-20th Area”, Chairman of Geological Planning Expedition of the National Geological Exploration Service of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan Aziz Garalov told reporters, APA reports.

He noted activity is currently observed in the landslide zone.

Monitorings are conducted by the Ministry of Economy and Natural Resources

The road in the direction of the 20th Area has been closed due to the landslide that occurred in the Badamdar settlement of Baku, the Ministry of Economy and Natural Resources told APA.

A part of soil layer, belonging to the previous landslide zone has slided and fallen to the highway as a result of the landslide. Width of the landslide zone is about 80 m.

A landslide has occurred in Badamdar, Chairman of Geological Planning Expedition of the National Geological Exploration Service of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan Aziz Garalov told APA.

He stated ministry employees are going to the site at the moment: “It will be clarified whether it is a landslide or an avalanche after arriving at the site.”

Note that the last landslide in that territory occurred in 2018.
