Today, in the evening hours, as a result of the heavy spring rain fallen on territory of Azerbaijan’s Ismayilli region, the mudflow waters have caused complications, APA’s local bureau reports.
After the heavy rain which lasted for several hours, the mudflow coming from mountains caused hurdles for movement of transport facilities on the part of the Shamakhy-Mughanli-Ismayilli highway passing through Diyalli and Talistan villages.
The road has been battered by mudflow because the water drains on the highway were clogged with silt and sediments. The big stones, tree roots and silt layer brought by mudflow waters from mountains caused closing of the road. As a result, hundreds of vehicles moving in the Baku-Shamakhy-İsmayilli-Gabala-Sheki direction and back have been stranded on the road. The mudflow waters have penetrated interiors of the vehicles.
Currently, the equipment of road operation department of Ismayilli region have been involved to the scene of incident, the works are being implemented for opening of the road and restoration of movement of transport.
