Fire in mountainous area of Baku is extinguished - UPDATED

Fire in the mountainous area in Baku is extinguished, Azerbaijani MES told APA.

The fire broke out near the Gobustan settlement of Garadagh district of Baku was extinguished by firefighting units of the State Fire Protection Service with the involvement of a helicopter of the Aviation Unit at 15.00.

Nearby areas was protected from the fire.

As a result of the fire, 25 hectares of grass and thorns-and-shrubs in the empty mountainous area burned.

“112” hotline of the Ministry of Emergency Situations received information regarding fire broke out in the mountainous area near Gobustan settlement of Garadagh district of Baku, APA reports citing Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Firefighting units of State Fire Protection Service and a helicopter of the Aviation Unit were involved in the fire-fighting works.

According to the preliminary information, 2 hectares of grass and thorns-and-shrubs of the mountainous area are burning.

Firefighting works are underway to extinguish the fire.
