Lawyer: "Fuad Abbasov barred to enter Russia for 50 years"

"I believe that the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation and the European Court of Human Rights will react accordingly and, if they receive a complaint, annul the unlawful and unreasonable court decisions regarding Abbasov Fuad,” Teyyub Sharifov, the lawyer of the journalist told APA’s Russian Bureau.

The lawyer said that today journalist F. Abbasov, in order to fulfill the judicial act, having bought a ticket at his own expense to prepare for departure from Domodedovo airport to Azerbaijan by flight J2 853 (AZAL Airlines) at 23H45.

“Currently, court executives take procedural steps to deport him from the country. On June 6, Moscow Regional Court considered the complaint filed by the Khimki City Court against Fuad Abbasov. The application was filed on the participation of Fuad in the trial. However, the court rejected the application to bring due to the lack of opportunity to bring Abbasov to trial. It should be noted that those arrested in connection with criminal cases are brought to court earlier than those arrested related to administrative cases," he stated.

He underlined that despite court session had been appointed for 10.00, the judge deliberately postponed the case until 14.00. “The court session was scheduled for 10.00, but the judge deliberately pulled the armed special forces to the courtroom, thus delaying the case until 2 pm additions to the material of the administrative case not reaching the procedural documents. I believe that the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation and the European Court of Human Rights will react accordingly and, if they receive a complaint, annul the unlawful and unreasonable court decisions against Abbasov Fuad.”
