Mark Guthrie to lead the commercial opperations of Azercosmos

Azercosmos, the premier satellite operator in the Caucasus, has appointed Mark Guthrie as its Chief Commercial Officer, APA reports citing official website of Azercosmos.

He began his career at BT (British Telecom), a market leader in the telecommunications and satellite communications industry in the U.K., and then held leadership positions at Europe Star and Verestar before the latter was acquired by SES in 2004. He served in a variety of roles in the U.K. and U.S. offices of SES, managing VSAT services, sales including IP Prime, operations for various markets, and the satellite leasing program in the Isle of Man. Mark joined KVH as Vice President for Global Mobile Broadband Sales in 2013 and latterly was appointed as KVH Industries’ Senior Vice President for the Asia-Pacific region.

Mark has received a B.Sc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Nottingham Trent University, an M.Sc in Electronic Engineering from the University of Nottingham, and studied for his M.B.A. at Henley Management College in the United Kingdom.

With expertise in leading sales operations and managing VSAT services in the UK and US, Mark Guthrie will surely contribute to the growth of Azercosmos both at the regional and international levels. He will be in charge of developing and executing long-term strategic commercial plans to achieve sales targets as well as expanding and diversifying Azercosmos’ customer base. His exceptional leadership skills and global perspective will further reinforce Azercosmos’ corporate values. Mark Guthrie will be based in Azercosmos’ Baku headquarters.
