Turkish spouse, wanted to seize USD 1 mln. of Azerbaijani businessman by blackmailing in Turkey, detained

The spouse, who wanted to seize USD 1 mln. of Azerbaijani businessman by blackmailing in Turkey, has been detained, APA reports.

On September 23 of this year, Azerbaijani citizen N.N, who has been engaged in business in tourism field in Turkey, applied to Police in Istanbul and said that he had been blackmailed by the person he worked with for 5 years: “Ozgur K., with whom I worked with, called me with his wife's phone, told me he had my intimate video footages, and wanted USD 1 mln. He noted that he would disseminate this video on social network and inform my family, if I did not give the money. He even said he would pass the videos to Azerbaijani media.”

Conducting operations related to the application, police detained the person with his wife Esin K. in Erzurum.

In his explanation, Ozgur K. claimed that person were in his debt.

During investigation, it was revealed that spouse wanted to flee to Georgia.
