Lerik. Aghaddin Babayev – APA. The adverse weather conditions in Azerbaijan’s Lerik district have left 50 residential areas without electricity.

Lerik executive authority deputy head Habil Malikov, who is also the chairman of the district’s emergencies commission, told APA that the snow accumulation is 20-25cm in the district center and 40-50cm in remote areas, as a result of which power lines in some places disrupted and consequently electricity was cut off in about 50 residential areas.

Although traffic is hampered on roads connecting villages, the Lankaran-Lerik highway is open.

The district’s concerned bodies are working to eliminate the consequences.
