Akif Chovdarov and others' property worth AZN 33M to be confiscated

The property of Major General Akif Chovdarov, former head of the main energy and transport security directorate under the liquidated Ministry of National Security of Azerbaijan, and others in the amount of AZN 33 million will be confiscated.

A relevant decision will be taken at the trial chaired by Baku Military Court Chairman Habib Hasanov, APA reported.

According to the decision, all other properties of Akif Chovdarov, except his house where his family members live in, will be confiscated.

The lawsuit filed by the State Security Service against the defendants was sustained at AZN 3 million.

The court sentenced Akif Chovdarov to 12 years in prison on Oct. 30.

Other accused persons – Colonel Salim Mammadov, former employee of the main energy and transport security directorate under the liquidated Ministry of National Security, was sentenced to 11 years of imprisonment, and former officials Akif Aliyev and Orkhan Osmanov to 5 and 4 years in prison respectively.
