Azerbaijan's border guards have detained three foreigners for using fake e-visas to enter the country, Azerbaijan's State Border Service told APA on May 17.

In a course of a check-in of the Sharjah-Baku flight, it was revealed that e-visas presented by 3 Nepalese citizens belong to nationals of other countries.

The documents were sent to a deeper laboratory examination where it was established that the visa presented by Nepalese citizen Ali Bakhsi Ghodollah (1952) was received in the name of Iranian citizen Shahi Ram Bahadur, the visa presented by Nepalese citizen Khand Satrughman (1993) was received in the name of Czech citizen Mozek Ondrej, and the visa presented by Nepalese citizen Thapa Sunan (1991) was received in the name of British citizen Shah Qasim Ali.

During investigation, it was revealed that the mentioned people intended to illegally get to Europe through Azerbaijan. It was also established that the Nepalese citizens purchased these visas in their country for $100, came to Azerbaijan for tourism purposes, although they did not have return tickets, and did not book places in Azerbaijan for accommodation.

Necessary operational and investigative measures are underway with respect to the detainees.
