Some 44 foreigners have been prosecuted for illicit drug trafficking in Azerbaijan over the past year, reads an annual report of the State Commission on Combating Drug Abuse and Illicit Drug Trafficking.
The report was prepared based on the annual data provided to the State Commission by the bodies included in the relevant working group, APA reports.
The foreigners brought to criminal responsibility include 23 Iranian citizens, 6 Georgian citizens, 2 Turkish citizens, 2 Kazakh citizens and one Afghan citizen, according to the report.
More than 140 kg of various drugs were seized from the abovementioned foreigners.
