Emergency Situations Ministry releases statement on fire in building of BP’s Baku office - <span style="color: red;">UPDATED

The Ministry of Emergency Situations has released a statement on the fire that broke out in the building of BP’s office in Baku.

According to the ministry, computer equipment was burned in a room on the first floor of a 16-storey administrative building in Baku’s Sabail district. The room and other equipments were protected from fire. The fire was extinguished by firefighters at 13:38 (Baku time).

There was a threat of fire at BP’s Baku office due to a short circuit, the Ministry of Emergency Situations told APA.

As a result of the measures taken, it was possible to prevent the outbreak of a fire.

BP-Azerbaijan told APA-Economics that there were malfunctions in the power supply system installed on the first floor of the building.

“For security reasons, the employees were evacuated. The problem has already been eliminated, and employees continue their work as usual,” said BP-Azerbaijan.
