An inmate, called Farhad Mursalov, has died of heart failure in jail #13 of the Penitentiary Service of Azerbaijan’s Justice Ministry, the Penitentiary Service told APA.
The Penitentiary Service denied reports of its employee’s involvement in the inmate’s death.

An inmate has died under unknown circumstances in jail #13 of the Azerbaijani Justice Ministry’s Penitentiary Service, APA has learned.
Employees of the Garadagh District Prosecutor’s Office arrived at the scene. A forensic examination was appointed to find out the cause of the inmate’s death.
An investigation into the incident is underway.
