Man who left his sister with Iranian drug dealers as pledge gets arrested attempting to enter Azerbaijan with a large amount of narcotics

The State Border Service (SBS) has received information of Azerbaijani citizen Babek Eyvazov, who left his sister (Minaye Eyvazova) with Iranian drug dealers as a pledge, attempting to enter Azerbaijan with larges amounts of narcotics.

 

The SBS PR department told APA that the man was detained attempting to smuggle 12.23g heroin and a large amount of methadone into Azerbaijan in the direction of Astara’s Shavgo village, away from any border checkpoint.

 

Babek Eyvazov is charged with border violation, drug trafficking, etc.

 

His sister, Minaye, was safely returned to the country.

 

The investigation is ongoing.
