The third Azerbaijani national killed in the bus crash has been identified as Ziver Safarova, APA reports.

Other two identified Azerbaijani nationals killed in the bus crash in the Turkish province of Igdir are Farhad Farhadli and Suleyman Aliyev.

According to the latest information, at least 5 of the 8 people killed in the bus crash in the Turkish province of Igdir are Azerbaijani citizens, Azerbaijani Consul General in Kars Nuru Guliyev told APA.

The diplomat said that 28 people have been wounded in the accident, and 26 of them are Azerbaijani citizens.

Twenty-six Azerbaijani nationals have been injured as a result of the road accident in the Turkish province of Igdir, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Hikmat Hajiyev told APA on Feb. 20.

According to him, eight people died as a result of the accident and the work is underway to determine whether there are Azerbaijani citizens.

The Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Kars, being in contact with local authorities, is providing aid to injured people. The consul general and the diplomatic mission staff are now in the hospital, where the injured people have been placed.

Earlier, Turkish newspaper Hurriyet reported that a fatal road accident took place near the Dilucu border crossing point with Azerbaijan’s autonomous republic of Nakhchivan.

According to the newspaper, two passenger busses collided with each other on the road between Igdir’s Aralig district and the Dilucu border crossing point.

The accident took place due to heavy fog and an improper attempt to pass.
