Former Algerian Prime Minister Abdelmadjid Tebboune has been elected the country's new president, receiving 58 percent of the vote, Algeria's electoral body said on Friday, APA reports citing Sputnik.

According to the electoral body, the final voter turnout reached 40 percent.
