Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa on Thursday received his second and final dose of the Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine from China at Kwekwe General Hospital in the Midlands Province, APA reports citing Xinhuanet.

Mnangagwa, who received his first jab in Victoria Falls last month, was accompanied by Vice President and Health and Child Care Minister Constantino Chiwenga, Defense Minister Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri and several other government officials.

Zimbabwe began its COVID-19 vaccination campaign on Feb. 18 and is targeting to inoculate 60 percent of the population in order to achieve herd immunity.

To date, 295,631 and 37,365 people, respectively, have received their first and second doses of vaccine.
