“Flights between Russia and Georgia may be resumed in near future”, said Chairman of the Committee of Russian State Duma on CIS Affairs Leonid Kalashnikov, APA-Economics reports citing RBK.

Deputy attended the meeting of parliamentary group of Russian-Georgian dialogue. According to him, besides other issues, restoration of aviation relations between two countries were also discussed in the meeting. L. Kalashnikov stated that it was difficult to say on exact date currently, but it already may happen in near future: “We should be certain on security of airports”.

The Deputy added that it was his own analysis related to the situation: “I think, all parliamentary meetings and meetings of Ministers, as well as statements of politicians and people show that not only flights, but also visa abolition may be restored between countries.”

Note that from July 8 of the current year, aviation relations between Russia and Georgia were stopped. Russian side said that its reason was aviation insecurity and unpaid debts.
