Over the past six years, Egypt’s tourism revenues have declined roughly by $6 billion due to terror-related concerns and security problems, Russian online newspaper Lenta.ru.

“Compared to previous years, the terrorist attacks committed in recent years have led to serious consequences in the tourism sector. These consequences are becoming more complicated due to current political processes,” Elhamy El-Zayat, head of the Egyptian Tourism Federation, said.

The tourist flow has decreased by 80 percent since a Russian plane crash in the Sinai last year, said Ahmed Balbaa, head of the Tourism committee and board member in the Businessmen Association.
