Deals closed at BICEX rise by 8.47% in October

119 deals were registered at 38 trading sessions held at currency department of Baku Interbank Currency Exchange (BICEX) during October. The auctions were attended by 19 banks.
Total volume of USD transactions made up AZN 158 919 000 or $181 949 000. The total amount of deals made in October is a 8.47% rise on last month.
BICEX told APA that the total amount of currency swaps carried out in January-October grew by 1.9 tomes year-on-year, in this period, which also is the peak during past 13 years.
During October AZN strengthened by 0.29% against USD- rose to AZN 0.8722/USD from AZN 0.8747/USD. The weighted average exchange rate of AZN against USD equaled AZN 0.8734/USD in October. It was AZN 0.8874/USD in September.
The exchange rate of AZN increased by 4.94% against USD during past one year.
5 leading banks actively participating in the auctions were rated.
They are International Bank of Azerbaijan (38.50%), Unibank OJSC (10.87%), Bank of Baku (7.05%), Azerigasbank JSIB (5.71%), and Kochbank-Azerbaijan CJSC (3.40%). /APA/
