"In January-February this year, Azerbaijan produced 38,300 tons of sugar and sugar products," APA-Economics reports citing the calculations conducted by the State Statistics Committee.
This figure is 55.7% more than in the same period last year.
Notably, the production of sugar products in the country has decreased by 15.1% over the past 5 years. Thus, in January-February 2017, the production volume was 45.1 thousand tons, while in 2018 this figure fell to 4.6 thousand tons. In 2019, production increased again reaching 56.1 thousand tons. In 2020, production decreased to 24.5 thousand tons, while in the first two months of 2021 - 24.4 thousand tons.
As of March 1, the country's stocks of finished products amounted to 19,800 tons, which is 4.1 times more than in 2021. As of March 1, last year, stocks amounted to 4.8 tons.
