"Food wheat stocks in the country are at a level that will meet the demand of the people," said Deputy Minister of Agriculture Ilhama Gadimova commenting on the impact of restrictions imposed by Russia and Kazakhstan on wheat imports.
The Deputy Minister said that such experience with temporary bans on wheat export from abroad was observed before. The ban could also be related to wheat and other foodstuffs used in the country. But Azerbaijan's food reserves are at a level to meet demand.
I. Gadimova added that on the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev, discussions are underway to increase the production of food wheat and work on proposals in this area.
