Tea import exceeds export by 9 times in Azerbaijan

In January-August of the current year 966,7 tonnes of tea worth USD 6 205,02 have been exported from Azerbaijan, APA-Economics reports citing monthly report on customs statistics of foreign trade of the State Customs Committee.

According to the report, value of the tea, exported abroad from Azerbaijan has increased by 3.3%, volume by 9.1% in the first 8 months of current year in comparison with corresponding period of the previous year.

Note that share of tea in total export has been 0.05% in January-August of this year.

Furthermore, 8 733,7 tonnes of tea worth USD 34 251, 47 thousand have been imported to Azerbaijan in reporting period. Although volume of tea import has not changed (total decrease – 0.01%) in comparison with relevant period of the previous year, its value has been increased by 1.2%.

Share of the tea has made up 0.37% of total import in reporting period.

As it is seen, tea import has exceeded export by 9 times in the first 8 months of the current year in Azerbaijan.
