74th session of the UN General Assembly starts today

On September 17, next - 74th session of the UN General Assembly starts its activity at 15:00 to New York time, APA reports citing TASS.

More than 170 issues, from severe regional conflicts, covering all spectrums of global problems to current main economic, ecological, and humanitarian problems will be discussed in the meeting.

Sincere greeting will be delivered by Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Tijjani Muhammad-Bande.

He will replace previous predecessor Ecuadorian María Fernanda Espinosa.

Members of Credential Committee, engaged with accreditation of delegation staff will also be appointed in the meeting.

Note that only candidate to the post of head of the General Assembly Muhammad-Bande stressed he intended to direct all of his efforts to fight against terrorism, starvation, gender discrimination, and violence during military conflicts. He also promised he would pay attention to prevention climate changes and education programs.
