The US researchers have developed a laboratory virus that can become a vaccine against various types of coronaviruses, APA reports citing mBio, the journal of the American Society for Microbiology.

So far, tests have been carried out on mice infected with the MERS (Middle East Respiratory Syndrome).

Scientists are confident that such a method will be useful in combating SARS-CoV-2 (severe acute respiratory syndrome), which caused a pandemic in 2020.

Tests in laboratories have shown that a single dose of a viral vaccine, injected through the nose, causes the affected cells to produce S-protein, which creates an immune response.

Until now, it has been impossible to create a vaccine against diseases such as COVID-19 or its preceding SARS and MERS.
