One person was killed in a shooting incident in the city of Portland, which is hit by mass riots, according to police. It is not clear, however, if the death is linked to the demonstrations, APA reports citing Sputnik.

Reports suggested that the shooting occurred near the corner of Southwest 3rd Avenue and Alder Street.

According to preliminary reports, the victim of the shooting is a white man, however, he was not identified be police.

On Saturday, a caravan of more than 600 vehicles of Donald Trump supporters entered the city. Police reported clashes between participants of the pro-Trump rally and Antifa protestors.

The protests against police brutality have been hitting Portland for over three months, since the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis during a violent arrest. President Trump offered to send federal law enforcement personnel to the city in order to curb the demonstrations, slamming Mayor Ted Wheeler and promising to "stop the Anarchists, Agitators, Rioters and Looters".

The mayor rejected the aid and criticised the president for "politics of division and demagoguery". Later, a group of protestors has broken into the lobby of his apartment building and demanded Wheeler's resignation.
