United States President Donald Trump is planning on issuing close to 100 pardons and commutations on his final day in office, APA reports citing Teletrader.

The list of names was compiled on Sunday, however, the president is not expected to issue a self-pardon as of yet. One person told the media outlet Trump was advised not to pardon himself or anyone involved in storming the Capitol building earlier in January, as it would only serve to prove he was involved.

The planned clemencies would mark the last step in the wave of pardons already issued ahead of Christmas when the head of state forgave charges of his former campaign chairman and several individuals involved in Russia's alleged 2016 election interference, amongst others.
