The pandemic continues to spread around the globe, infecting over 4.6 million people worldwide, and killing around 315,000, according to Johns Hopkins University. However, multiple countries have reported a decline in the number of new cases, announcing an ease of the coronavirus restrictions or even lifting lockdowns and travel bans, APA reports quoting Sputnik.

The United States remains the nation most affect by the virus, with New York the hardest hit city, reporting over 192,000 cases and 20,720 fatalities. At the same time, US President Donald Trump said on Twitter that the number of new cases "is strongly trending downward throughout the United States, with few exceptions".
