Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Dr. Anthony Fauci will not be testifying in front of the United States House of Representatives' Appropriations Committee on the country's response to the Novel Coronavirus pandemic, as the White House blocked his testimony, APA reports citing CNN.

"While the Trump Administration continues its whole-of-government response to COVID-19, including safely opening up America again and expediting vaccine development, it is counter-productive to have the very individuals involved in those efforts appearing at Congressional hearings," White House spokesman Judd Deere stated.

Fauci, one of the main members of the Administration's Coronavirus Task Force, led by the nation's Vice President Mike Pence will, however, appear before the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee on May 12.
