Erdogan: "Event some 104 years ago under war conditions has to be discussed by historians, not politicians"

At a joint press conference with Trump in Washington, the Turkish president condemned the decision of the US House of Representatives to support a resolution recognizing the so-called "Armenian genocide" in the Ottoman state, APA reports.

Erdogan emphasized that historians should judge the events of 104 years ago, but not politicians.

Erdogan emphasized that the two anti-Turkish resolutions adopted on October 29 by the House of Representatives of the US Congress cast a shadow over Turkish-American relations and arouse opposition from the Turkish people.

The President noted that the proposal of the Turkish side to create a joint commission of historians is valid and the Armenian side can take advantage of Ankara’s initiative.
