U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday told reporters that he would provide more details about increased U.S. sanctions on Iran within 48 hours, after announcing them earlier on Twitter, APA reports citing Reuters.

Trump, speaking in Los Angeles, said his thinking toward Iran has not changed but declined to give any details about his next steps. He told reporters the ultimate option after the weekend strikes on Saudi Arabian oil facilities would be war but that there were other options.

Speaking about Iran, he said that he considers his previous decision not to attack the Islamic Republic "a sign of strength." "It is very easy to attack," Trump said. He also warned with regard to Iran that "if the US has to do something, it will do so without hesitation." The US leader stated that he will soon have an announcement about a response to attacks on Saudi Aramco, noting that Washington "hasn't learned much" it did not already know regarding the drone attacks.

"We are very much at the point where we know what happened," the president underlined, saying that his "thinking on Iran" has not changed much.
