U.S. to allocate $726 million to Ukraine and Georgia

The US Congress allocates more than $ 420 million to help Ukraine and over 105 million to support Georgia, according to the draft budget of the US for the 2018 financial year, distributed in the Congress after preliminary approval by the Republicans and Democrats.

"At least 105 million 325 thousand dollars should be provided in the form of aid to Georgia... At least 420 million 700 thousand should be provided as aid to Ukraine," the draft budget says.

According to the Ukrainian Embassy in the US, the total amount of financial assistance allocated to Ukraine will make $620.7 million. Kiev will receive military technical assistance in the amount of $200 million. This is $50 million more than the 2017 financial year. The funds will be spent on preparation of Ukrainian military personnel, purchase of military equipment and ammunition, logistics support and other purposes.
