A 5.3-magnitude earthquake was recorded near the coast of southern Peru late on Wednesday, according to data provided by the United States Geological Survey (USGS), APA reports citing Teletrader.
The epicenter of the quake was some 10 kilometers north-north-east of the Quilca district in the nation's Camana Province. The tremor struck at a depth of about 73 kilometers.
The earthquake is the second one to hit the country on Wednesday, as a 4.9-magnitude quake shook central Peru region a few hours after midnight.
