American's revenue at $9.4B in Q4 after 134% jump

American Airlines Inc. released on Thursday its earnings report for the fourth quarter of 2021, announcing its revenue reached $9.4 billion, after a 134% surge compared to the same period a year prior, APA reports citing Teletrader.

The airline's operating loss shrank 69% on the year in the fourth trimester, amounting to $780 million, while its final quarter's net loss decreased by 57% to land at $931 million, or $1.44 per share.

For the entire year, revenue annually grew 72%, climbing to $29.9 billion, while the operating loss and the net loss dropped 89.8% and 77.6% in 2021, to come in at $1.06 billion and $1.99 billion, respectively. Full-year diluted loss per share stood at $3.09, after a loss per share of $18.36, seen in 2020.
