Apple reportedly limits ChatGPT use

Apple Inc. restricted the use of ChatGPT, including other external artificial intelligence tools, to some of its workers, The Wall Street Journal said citing a document and people with knowledge of the matter, APA reports.

The multinational technology company is worried that its staff, who is utilizing these types of programs, could potentially leak confidential information. According to the document, Apple told its personnel not to use Microsoft-owned GitHub’s Copilot either.

As per sources, the tech giant is currently working to build its own large language models, with the AI efforts being headed by John Giannandrea, Apple's senior vice president of Machine Learning and AI Strategy.
