United States President Joe Biden said at a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Thursday that the first Abrams tanks will be delivered to Ukraine next week, APA reports citing Teletrader.
He confirmed the US will provide a $325 million package of military assistance, including more artillery, ammunition, and anti-tank weapons.
He said the US will also focus on Ukraine's air defense, such as a second Hawk air defense battery "with steady delivery of Hawk and other systems through the winter" and a new package of launchers and interceptors.
Biden restated his administration's commitment to helping Ukraine rebuild, including supporting anti-corruption reforms to "create an environment where businesses can thrive and where American and European businesses want to invest."
He said the newly appointed Special Representative for Ukraine's Economic Recovery Penny Pritzker will "help Ukraine reopen markets, mobilize investments and make the necessary economic reforms."
