United States President Joe Biden is scheduled to deliver the commencement speech at Howard University on May 13, the White House announced on Saturday, APA reports citing Teletrader.
Howard University has received more focus from the government since the Biden-Harris administration took office in January 2021. At the start of this year, it became the first historically Black college to partner with the Defense Department to lead a research center through an investment worth $12 million a year.
According to CNN, Biden's reelection campaign also renewed focus on pushing Black voters and young voters to participate in the 2024 presidential election. The last time a US president addressed Howard University graduates was during the Obama administration in 2016.
