United States President Joe Biden and Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau stated on Friday that China poses a "long-term challenge" to the international order "including disruptive actions such as economic coercion, non-market policies and practices and human rights abuses," APA reports citing Teletrader.

"While we will cooperate with China in areas of mutual interest, such as on climate change, we remain committed to ensuring our ability to compete effectively with China on a level playing field," Biden and Trudeau noted in a joint statement.

The US president and Canada's prime minister also stressed that the two countries' stance concerning Taiwan matter remains "unchanged," and highlighted the importance of preserving "peace" and "stability" in the region. "We encourage the peaceful resolution of cross-Strait issues," they said.
