Azerbaijan and Armenia have made significant progress toward a sustainable peace agreement in the negotiations held in the United States, said Antony Blinken, US Secretary of State at the press conference held after the meeting of the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia, APA reports.

"Over the past few days, both sides have discussed a number of very complex issues and have made significant progress toward a sustainable peace agreement," the U.S. diplomat said.

"I believe the pace of the negotiations, as well as the foundation laid by our colleagues, indicate that we are on the verge of reaching a peace agreement. The final stage of any marathon is always the most difficult. We are aware of this," Blinken added.
