A resolution was submitted to the US Congress according to which the armed forces U.S. may be brought to the defense Ukraine if Russia uses weapons of mass destruction, APA reports citing BB-CNTV.
The document was introduced by Rep. Adam Kinzinger, a Republican from Illinois. The explanatory note posted on the legislator’s website says that, if approved, this initiative “will authorize the US president to use our forces to respond to a scenario in which the Russian Federation uses chemical, biological or nuclear weapons against Ukraine.”
“Having spoken with the Secretary of State Antony Blinken and after listening to his serious concerns about the possibility of using Putin, Russian President of chemical weapons, I am sure the United States will demonstrate to the world community that it will not tolerate senseless violence, ”said the congressman.
