The ongoing storms in California that resulted in the deaths of at least two individuals have triggered emergency in over 34 counties and nearly 10,000 residents are being ordered to evacuate, as intense flooding puts several coastal counties at risk, APA reports citing Teletrader.

More than 50,000 residents are without electricity, according to the tracker PowerOutage.us. The National Weather Service warned that excessive rainfall is expected in Southern, Central, and Northern California on Saturday night through Sunday, while the Northern Plains may experience winter storm and blizzard conditions starting from Friday evening and lasting through the weekend.

The state of emergency declaration requested by Governor Gavin Newsom was approved by United States President Joe Biden on Friday.
